Farm Store Retail Associate

We’re seeking motivated individuals to join our Farmstead Creamery retail team. At our farm store — located right here on our idyllic farm just feet away from where our cows get milked— we sell our own artisanal dairy products and a selection of other locally-produced goods.

The right candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, listen and communicate effectively with customers and other staff members, take direction, problem solve, keep a clean workspace, and follow standard operating procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Register transactions

• Greet and interact with customers

• Scooping ice cream

• Assisting with customer’s special orders & preparing specialty charcuterie boards

• Cutting and wrapping cheeses 

• Marketing daily samples

• Restocking, facing & fronting items

Requirements:

Applicants must be able to lift at least 35 lbs, the ability to scoop ice cream, and exhibit a positive, professional attitude. Experience in retail or customer service is preferred. Knowledge of cheese and specialty foods is a plus!

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

Hourly wage is based on experience. Plus, tips! Benefits include employee discounts and weekly milk stipends. 

We have both year-round and seasonal positions available. Additionally, we have both part-time and full-time shifts available. The Farmstead Creamery shop is currently open 7 days a week from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm (with extended hours in the summer). Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Farmers Market Sales Associate

April 11th, 2024

We’re hiring a part-time or full-time Farmer’s Market Sales Associate to attend local farmers' markets in Berkshire County three days a week from May to September to sell High Lawn Farm products. 

The best candidate for this position is friendly and personable with ample customer service experience, is passionate about artisanal products, and is organized. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Gathering all necessary Farmers Market supplies and products 

• Driving to and from the Farmer’s Market venue 

• Setting up and taking down

• Informing customers about products and the farm

• Working POS system, handling cash 

• Maintaining and cleaning Farmers Market supplies (tables, coolers, tablecloths, etc)

Requirements

Applicants are required to have a valid driver’s license, previous customer service experience, and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. 

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

Assistant Cheese Affineur

April, 2024

We're seeking a part-time Assistant Cheese Affineur to help us with the aging process of our artisanal cheeses.

The best candidate for this position is someone who is motivated, can work independently, exhibits versatility, and has strong attention to detail. Experience with cheese making and affinage is not required, and we are willing to train the right candidate. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cheese affinage

• Cutting, wrapping, and packaging cheeses

• Assisting in cheese production 

• Cleaning

• Record keeping

Requirements

Applicants are required to have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be willing to work in cool and humid environments. Training will be provided for motivated candidates.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

Wage is commensurate with experience and willingness to learn. Benefits include employee discounts and weekly milk stipends. This position is about 30 hours a week, with negotiable start time and schedule. Full-time position options may be available.

Distribution & Logistics Supervisor

High Lawn Farm is seeking a versatile individual to supervise our distribution team and oversee our delivery route logistics. A strong candidate will exhibit professional communication skills, display the ability to optimize efficiencies and lead by example.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Supervise truck drivers and coordinate fleet services

• Analyze and oversee delivery route logistics 

• Ensure quality control and safe food handling during distribution

• Collaborate with the management team to identify new business opportunities

• Understanding of current state and federal transportation regulations

• Maintain and improve SOPs, route sequences, maintenance logs, and general records

• Organize and conduct employee training, and performance evaluations

• Coordinate distribution schedules and assist in covering employee time off

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants are required to have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to lift at least 45 lbs repeatedly. Applicants must be able to pass a drug test, DOT physical, and background check. Preference will be given to candidates with distribution management and sales backgrounds.

Delivery Truck Driver

We are seeking a full-time Class B CDL Delivery Truck Driver to join our team in distributing our collection of farm-fresh, 100% Jersey dairy products to stores, restaurants, institutions, and coffee shops from the Berkshires to Boston. 

The best candidate for this position will be someone who is motivated, responsible and has a positive attitude. The candidate must exhibit good public relations skills, as this position represents the face of our company and works directly with our customers daily.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation includes salary, plus commission. Salary is commensurate with experience and willingness to learn. Benefits include a matching 401(k) retirement plan, health insurance, Aflac, paid time off, employee discounts, and weekly milk stipends.

Groundskeeper

We are seeking a year-round Groundskeeper to help keep our grounds functionally and aesthetically sound. The best candidate for this position will be someone who exhibits a positive attitude and is receptive to instruction.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintains lawns, landscaping, trees, shrubs, flowers, irrigation, exterior fencing, and driveways

• Operates various types of landscaping/ gardening power equipment and hand tools

• Assists with trimming, cutting, and removing trees and shrubs as needed

• Completes snow removal tasks by operating snowplows, and snowblowers to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation is commensurate with experience and willingness to learn. 

Benefits include employee discounts, weekly milk stipends, health insurance, Aflac supplemental insurance, and a matching 401(k) retirement plan (after one year of employment).

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants are required to have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs at a time and must be physically able to operate power equipment. 

Although not required, preference will be given to candidates with experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
